Lebowski Bowl/Sobchak Shoot-out Wrap Up

Last Wednesday, some Fox employees with a vengeance against pins and love of community footwear took part in the first Lebowksi Bowl/Sobchak Shoot-Out hosted by the Young Professionals Board of Venice Community Housing Corporation (VCHC). Named after the mid 90’s released movies, the mid week bowling event featured everything one could hope for, discounted drinks, favorite tunes to sing along to and enough body language & pin coaxing to resemble a raindance.

The fundraiser was held at the Bay Shore Lanes in Santa Monica. Proceeds from the event went to the Venice Community Housing Corporation (VCHC) www.vchcorp.org. – While helping to build raise awareness for VCHC, the evening also provided support for much needed affordable housing and services for low-income people in the community.

Great times all around! Prizes were awarded for best costume, many of whom came as characters from the movie, such as white bath robs like sported by “The Dude,” and assorted other ones that make one curious to go back and see if they were actually in the flick or people just wanted an excuse to pull out some funky digs buried in the back of their closets. Other prizes given were for best team score and best team spirit. No word if bar tabs contributed into the results on either of those.

Another highlight of the evening was a blow-out raffle with tons of fantastic prizes given. Jackets, DVD’s, MGM movie packages, T-shirts, action figures, restaurant and hotel gift certificates were among the prizes awarded to about a couple dozen winners.
